Driver: Ben Zachariah
Ben fell in love with rallying at the age of 11, following both the World Rally Championship and Australian Rally Championship closely for many years. At the age of 14, Ben began competing in both the Victorian Motorkhana Championship and Group5 competitions.
With two decades in the automotive industry, Ben has a Certificate of Management, a Diploma of Mass Communications, an Advanced Diploma of Management, and an MBA with a major in finance.
Now 39, Ben is the Road Test Editor for CarExpert, having driven almost everything – from a Corvette on track in the US, to an R34 Skyline GT-R over Hakone Pass in Japan, a Porsche through the Alps of Austria, and a LandCruiser across Australia’s Simpson Desert.

Co-driver: Stefan Smith
Born in New Zealand, Stefan grew up around motorsport – with his father competing in a Ford Capri in sports car series and regularity rallies – but his first love has always been the outdoors, having hiked trails across Australia and the world.
With a Doctorate in Engineering and an MBA from Monash Business School – achieving the Dean’s Honour List – Stefan has worked at the upper levels of several organisations over the years, and currently runs a management consulting company, Bismuth Advisory, based in Melbourne.
